Korean pillars
City: Saint-Petersburg.
It is a gift from Korean Republic for the 300th Saint-Petersburg anniversary. 15 wooden figures of ancient guards “chansin” are installed on the territory of city park “Sosnovka”. In accordance with folk legends these statues were believed to be the guards protecting villages and churches from evil spirits. That’s why they had such a horrendous appearance. The sculptures are cut from Russian pines and colored by Korean artists.
Address: the cross of Svetlanovsky prospect and Morisa Teresa prospect..
How to reach: from metro station “Ploshad Muzhestva” till city park “Sosnovka” .

— А сбоку почти каждого "божка" есть вырезанная на нём же табличка - то ли обращение от скульптора, то ли запланированное описание, изложенное то на русском, то на корейском..
