There’s a monument to V. I. Lenin. The sculptor is V. Pinchuk (he’s made lots of different Lenins). The monument was placed in the territory of “Darnitsa” bread factory in 1935. And the factory itself was built in 1930.
This monument is different from all the other ones because of the unusual position of the party leader. Here he’s not shouting anything, leads no one, he is just standing straight, his hands in the pockets. We even don’t see the usual cap. And his face is rather humane, not monumental. The figure is made in the natural human size. Another point is that the pedestal of the monument is too short - about 50 cm from the ground only. But this is its original and the only pedestal. The place where the monument stands is also unusual – it is placed not in front of the administrative factory building, but a bit aside, on the grass behind the bushes. It always used to be there, sideways to the factory fence. And the fence here is made of the forged lattice and covered with two layers of Rabbitz wire lattice. It’s not that easy to notice Lenin here, you need to look very carefully!

How to reach: on foot from Chkalovskaya metro station along Bolshaya Zelenina st. towards the bridge across Nevka, then turn right and go for about 3 min along Levashovsky prospect.

Dunaeww, (15.05.2011 at 19:32) 0— ПАВ должен быть рад - он давно подыскивает местечко для отставных Лениных и Ко! Вот за забором, в кустах... Кстати, возможно именно этому нестандартному месту расположения, этот памятник и уцелел с 1935 года! Надеюсь, что он простоит там еще долго! Первые советские памятники отличаются какой-то естественностью - даже Ленины не такие монументальные!

— Да, там им было бы уютно ))))) но места маловато. Ленины друг на друге стоять будут.

— ПАВ, места, конечно маловато, да и хлебозаводу это, думается ни к чему! Я вот недавно с удивлением узнал, что к концу 1980-х г.г. в Ленинграде было установлено всего не более 80 памятников и бюстов Ленину!!! Весьма мало для такого большого города, согласитесь. Ныне их осталось значительно меньше.
— Мне иногда кажется, что их стало еще больше чем при СССР )))) но если раньше Ильич отправлял в светлое будущее, то ныне посылает... в светлое прошлое )))
