Novo-Andreevsky Bridge
City: Saint-Petersburg.
In the end of 2009 a new pedestrian bridge was constructed over the river Smolenka. The bridge existed here since the mid 1960's. It was built from scrap metal by Baltic shipyard worker Andreev together with the inhabitants of Goloday (old unofficial name of Dekabristov island) island on their own. It was the only bridge connecting the island with the rest of the city before in mid-70s Nalichny and Korablestroiteley bridges were opened. In 2005 the old bridge was disassembled. Rumors say that this summer there lived near the bridge a family of beavers.
Address: Novosmolenskaya embankment.
How to reach: Primorskaya metro station.
