Oasis in the 9th Sovetskaya Street or the Grandmother's Garden

I’ve once happened to come to this yard. I’ve previously been there in the winter, but have noticed nothing special in the design of the yard.
But now, in the summer the yard-well has turned into a charming place. Its residents call it The Grandma’s Garden. I can’t believe that these plants are able to grow with our weather. Of course it is a merit of the flowerbed owners the sisters Olga Borisovna Kushlina and Larisa Borisovna Yegorova.
In such an uncommon way they approached to the fight against the exhaust gases and cars next to the windows of their semi-basement apartment. Last year the flower garden was decorated with a mosaic panel (as always, at the sisters’ own expense).

How to reach: either from Ploschad Vosstaniya or Chernyshevskaya metro stations walk or take a bus to the Ploschad Galiny Starovoitovoy (Square of Galina Starovoitova.
