On Preobrazhenskaya square stands an orthodox cathedral, which had never been closed for worship. It’s Spaso-Preobrazhenskii cathedral blessed in 1754, later the cathedral burned and changed its outlook. Now it’s first outlook is undefined as there were no photos in those times and all the paintings burned. All we know is that it was first cathedral with 5 domes in St. Petesburg, as Peter I preferred one dome cathedrals. Now let’s talk about clock. It was an unusual idea to place the clock on one of the cathedral’s bell towers, but the god thing is that you can see the time even from Liteinyi prospect. The clock was brought from England in 1854 and still keep time.
