On the way to St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress (which for sure is visited by every guest our city) one can see a monument to a Hare. The monument itself is not so noticeable; however the people crowding around to toss a coin on it show its location to the passers. The thing is that tossing a coin so that it lands on the statue without falling in the water makes the wishes come true!
But why the monument is installed at the very place and why it’s dedicated to a hare? The answer is simple: St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress is situated on the Hare island. A legend says that there was a hare on the island that had saved from a Petersburg flood.
Address: the pillar near loannovsky Bridge leading to St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress.
How to reach: on foot from metro station “Gorkovskaya” till river Neva and St. Peter and St. Paul Fortress. You will see a hare sitting on the pillar on the left side of loannovsky Bridge across Kronverksky strait..

Надежда*, а ещё слышала историю, о том, что в районе этого моста как-то иностранец потерял золотые часы за 200 тысяч долларов. Монетки зайцу бросал. :-) И объявили награду в 10 тысяч долларов тому, кто их найдёт. Золотоискатели ныряли-ныряли, а в результате ничего не нашли. Водолазы с оборудованием часы обнаружили. :-) Хэппи Энд.
А ещё говорят, что это была просто хитрая рекламная компания ювелирной фирмы.

— А это мой с мужем талисман))) Мы в спец.мешочек откладываем монеты для зайки. А потом иногда наведываемся в гости) ВСЕ желания, даже самые невероятные исполняются)))) Думаю, морковкой в него кинуться))

— Летом 2014-го были замечены зайцы-мутанты на территории крепости . Один располагался внутри сразу за Петровскими воротами у сувенирного магазинчика. Второй - где-то в районе кованых кресел
