На  углу улиц Коммуны и Отечественной, что в районе Ржевки-Пороховых, в начале 1950-х в честь Победы в Великой Отечественной войне установлены два пилона. (По одной информации в 1950-х здесь заканчивался город).
Пилоны украшены барельефными портретами Ленина и Сталина и увенчаны пятиконечными звездами в венках. Ленин всегда глядел на жителей, а вот со Сталиным заминка.  Он был закрыт от взоров  железным листом. Но во время реставрации к  60-и летию Победы в 2005 году барельеф И.В.Сталину был открыт, и снова, как и задумывалось автором, изображения вождей смотрят друг на друга. (арх. В. Я. Душечкина)
P.S. - Это одно из трех известных сохранившихся изображений Сталина в Петербурге. Второе - в нижнем вестибюле станции метро "Площадь Восстания". Третье - на знамени молодогвардейцев (памятник "Героям Краснодона" в Екатерингофе).

Two pylons were installed at the corner between Communy and Otechestvennaya streets which is in the district Rzhevka-Porokhovye in the early 1950s in honor of the Victory in Great Patriotic War. (According to one source in the 1950s the city border lied here).
The pylons are decorated with bas-relief portraits of Lenin and Stalin, and topped with five-pointed stars in wreaths. Lenin used to always look at the people, which is hard to say about Stalin. He was closed from the people’s eyes with an iron sheet. But in 2005 during the renovation dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Victory Stalin’s bas-relief has been opened, and again, as it was intended by the author, the images of the two leaders are looking to each other (architect V. Y. Dushechkina).
P.S. - This is one of three known images of Stalin in St. Petersburg now existing. The second one is in the lower lobby of the Ploschad  Vosstaniya metro station. The third one is situated on the banner of the Young Guard (The Monument to the Heroes of Krasnodon in Ekaterinhof).
