Horn music is a Russian specialty. The first such orchestra was created in 1751 by Semen Naryshkin the Imperial Theatres director. The principle of horn music is the following: One musician – one instrument – one note. That’s why it’s usually referred to as “music chorus”, “horn chapel”, “Imperial Yager chorus” or “living org”. In those days it was considered as a know-how without any analogues in the world. It became popular, new orchestras were created but then it started losing its positions, other music genres replaced it. In the beginning of 21 century horn music was reborn. Now there are two horn orchestras in Russia: “Russian Horn Chapel”, created in 2002 and “Russian Horn Orchestra” created in 2006 by Sergei Polyanichko.

15 сентября 2011 года в Мальтийской Капелле Воронцовского дворца, по адресу г. Санкт-Петербург, Садовая улица д.26, состоится РОГ-концерт. На уникальных по форме и звучанию роговых инструментах Российский Роговой Оркестр исполнит шедевры мировой классической музыки и современные произведения.

РОГ-концерт проводится при поддержке Комитета по культуре правительства Санкт-Петербурга.

Вход свободный.

Начало в 19.00.

— Теперь понятно кто это был - выступали в Петергофе в августе 2010-го, видимо и есть те самые товарищи... понравилось =) Знакомые мелодии в необычном звучании.
